11.1 Introduction

11.8.1 Latent Heat- It refers to the heat that is required to convert a solid into a liquid or a liquid into gas.

11.9 Heat Transfer

It refers to the movement of heat from one object to another object of different temperature.

11.9.1 Conduction- It refers to the process by which heat transfer from one object to another object without the movement of an object.

11.9.2 Convection- It refers to the transfer of heat by the movement of the object. Also, it is possible only in liquids.

11.9.3 Radiation- It refers to that transfer of energy that does not need any carrier like the sun. Also, this energy is absorbed by every living and non-living thing.

11.9.4 Blackbody Radiation-It refers to that body that absorbs all incident electromagnetic radiation.

11.9.5 Greenhouse Effect- It refers to the increase in temperature of the surface of the earth due to greenhouse gases.

11.10 Newton’s Law of Cooling

This topic explains Newton’s law of cooling with the help of an activity. Apart from that, the states that the change in temperature of an object is comparative to its own temperature and ambient temperature.
