Difference Between Celsius And Fahrenheit

There are three types of measuring temperature, Fahrenheit, Celsius and Kelvin. In this article, we will be focusing on the first two. Moreover, we will learn about the difference between Celsius and Fahrenheit to get a better understanding. The United States and some of its territories use Celsius to measure temperature. For the majority of the countries, they use Fahrenheit as a measuring tool.

Definition of Celsius

Celsius scale is the pat of the metric system which we use for measuring the temperature in several countries. The former name for Celsius was Centigrade scale. The symbol we use to denote it is °C.

Many people prefer it to be the easiest way of reading the temperature. The discoverer of Celsius was an astronomer, Andres Celsius, who introduced it in mid-1700. The freezing point of water is 0°C and the boiling point is 100°C. Similarly, the average human body temperature is 32°C.

Definition of Fahrenheit

Fahrenheit is another parameter we use for measuring temperature. The United States and some of its territories most commonly use it to measure temperaturere. The physicist, Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit, discovered it in 1724.

The boiling point of the water is 212°F and melting point 32°F.  Similarly, the average human body temperature is 96° on this scale.

Conversion Can be converted into Fahrenheit by:

(°C × 1.8) + 32 = °F

Can be converted into Celsius by:

(°F – 32) + 1.8 = °C
