Difference Between Communicable And Non-Communicable Disease

All of know about numerous diseases which have their own characteristics, causes, and more. Thus, when we compare some to the other, we see that we can easily detect some while the others are detected in the later stage of life. Similarly, there are communicable diseases and non-communicable diseases. Thus, through this article, we will clear the difference between communicable and non-communicable disease. Moreover, the former diseases are one which spreads from one person to another and is highly infectious. On the other hand, the latter does not spread and is non-contagious. Therefore, the line between these two diseases are is somewhat blurred. Hence, let’s study them in detail to get a better understanding of them.

Definition of Communicable Disease

Communicable diseases are ones which are contagious. In other words, it can be transferred from one person to another. Further, it can be done in a direct or indirect manner. Moreover, through direct contact, it can spread via transmission from infected blood, faeces or other fluids of the body.

On the contrary, indirect contact transmission will include air, water, food and insects. Also, we refer to them as acute because of their quick development. Moreover, the symptoms of these diseases vary with the type of infection one catches.

However, there are some common symptoms of infectious diseases. Thus, they are headache,  running nose, flu, vomiting, fever, dysentery, diarrhoea, cough, malaria, muscles ache, rabies, itching, etc.

Non-communicable diseases are ones which do not spread from one person to the other. Thus, we refer to them as a non-contagious disease. The reasons for this disease are many.

Further, they may be when there is a change in lifestyle or eating habits. Moreover, it also happens with people who have an allergy, long-term illness. Further, when there is environmental change, malnutrition, side-effects of medicines it can happen. Moreover, some are even heredity.

Similarly, we refer to non-communicable diseases as chronic. It is because they for a long-period and keep progressing slowly. For instance, strokes, excessive hunger, diabetes, frequent urination, blood pressure, cancer, obesity, allergy, hypertension are examples of this.
